Police in Shreveport responded to reports of a shooting involving multiple victims, according to NBC News. Investigators said the gunman shot 10 people in total, killing eight children and wounding two women.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Authorities identified the suspect as Shamar Elkins, the children\u2019s father. Seven of the children were found inside the residence, while an eighth was discovered on a back roof.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jacob said he woke up to his wife telling him she heard\u00a0sirens<\/strong>\u00a0and possibly\u00a0a gunshot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
