For my wedding, my grandmother gave me a strange gift\u2014her old, torn, and faded sofa. My husband hated it. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t belong in our modern home,\u201d he said, and I agreed to store it in the garage, mostly out of respect for her.<\/p>\n
