The silence that followed was oddly peaceful.<\/p>\n<p>As I stood to leave, the waitress gave me a reassuring smile and said, \u201cThe right people will appreciate your company, not just your wallet.\u201d I went home realizing a valuable truth: kindness and respect matter more than appearances or fancy settings.
