“Finish what Connor asked you to say today,” I replied firmly.
I turned around and walked back to my seat. Kenneth was weeping openly now without hiding his face.
Colin turned back to face the chapel. He held up the long paper speech he had brought up with him earlier. Then he quietly set it aside on the podium.
“I actually spent three days writing a formal eulogy,” Colin explained to the room. “It was seven full pages long.”
A loud voice from Connor’s group of friends called out, “Jeez, Colin, seven pages?”
